Apex is pleased to attend the NC Medical Group Management Association’s Spring Conference for the first time this year. The North Carolina chapter of MGMA was founded in 1971 and represents more than 500 medical groups, including single and multi-specialty groups, medical school clinics, management service organizations, independent practice associations, and physician-hospital organizations.

At this year’s Imaging Network Group 2013 FORUM, Apex founder and CEO Brian Kueppers and Apex President Patrick Maurer convened with other leaders in print and electronic service providers to discuss key business and technical issues. The conference featured speakers and panel discussions across a range of topics, including best practices relevant for Apex clients. This year’s ING Group FORUM took place March 19-22 at the Kiawa Island Golf Resort in South Carolina.

On March 5-6 in St. Paul, MN, Apex’s founder Brian Kueppers, along with Nels Peterson and Grady Sloan, will share how the latest technology, delivered over the web without any software to install, makes online billing and statement processing simple.

Healthcare Financial Management Association convened its HFMA 2012 National Institute, one of the industry’s largest events featuring thought leaders and technology innovations in healthcare financial administration. Nels Peterson and Phil Rohs, Senior Consultants at APEX, exhibited solutions and met with attendees, representing healthcare administrators and finance directors from across North America. APEX President Patrick Maurer also attended the event.

APEX participated in an event sponsored by the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal to honor 15 “Healthiest Employers of the Twin Cities” and explore how other Twin Cities companies can learn from these companies to implement ideas that promote employee wellness. The event was held at the downtown Minneapolis Hilton.

APEX executives and staff representing a cross-section of the company attended an awards celebration at the Depot Renaissance Hotel in Minneapolis, hosted by Minnesota Business Magazine to honor those companies named “100 Best Companies to Work For in 2012”. Attendees from APEX included Brian Kueppers, CEO; Patrick Maurer, President; Tony Senner, Application Development Manager; Haley Casey, Marketing and Sales Coordinator; and staff members from departments throughout APEX’s operations.

11th annual “St. Jude Tournament of Hope” golf event fundraiser, held at Minnesota Valley Country Club in Bloomington. The charitable event raised over $130,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a world-renowned pediatric cancer care and research hospital in Memphis, TN.

APEX president Patrick Maurer presented best practices in billing statement design and delivery to an audience of attendees at the 2012 International MUSE Conference in Orlando, FL. The Medical Users Software Exchange is an organization of MEDITECH users and related professionals. In addition to Patrick Maurer’s role as a featured speaker, APEX representatives also met with attendees throughout the three-day conference to share how APEX technologies integrate with MEDITECH.

On May 20, APEX Senior Consultant Robert Weber shared from APEX’s experiences providing statement-processing services to radiology providers at the RBMA 2012 Radiology Summit in Orlando, FL. The Radiology Business Management Association provides members with applied business information applicable to multiple radiology settings, whether in clinic, hospital, or other contexts. For many radiology providers, self-pay patients make up a substantial portion of patients served. Effective statement design—for clear communication to self-pay patients—can help lower accounts receivable levels and shorten the revenue cycle.

On February 20, APEX exhibited at the annual HIMSS Conference, which is one of the largest health information technology events in the U.S., with over 300 sessions covering multiple aspects of healthcare information technology.
